30th WINTER SOLSTICE CELEBRATION

In a giant city with many holiday events, the musical, theatrical and environmental spectacle of Paul Winter's Winter Solstice Celebrations,

celebrating the return of the sun after the longest night of the year, attracts thousands of concert-goers to New York's Cathedral of St. John the Divine and tens of thousands of radio-listeners via the NPR broadcast of the show.

Paul Winter's Winter Solstice Celebration, which celebrates its 30th Anniversary this December 2009, began as a Holiday alternative and still remains true to its world-embracing roots. The Cathedral of St. John the Divine's most popular annual secular event, it now firmly take its place among the great, durable Holiday traditions of New York and National Public Radio.

SUMMER SOLSTICE CELEBRATION

For 14 years, Winter has gathered musicians from around the world in the Cathedral Church of St. John the Divine in New York to create inspired, spontaneous music at the spiritually charged moment of the summer solstice.

SOLSTICE RECORDINGS
